Central Richmond
Central Richmond brings private rooms close to the activity of the town centre. For a house, a converted flat or a shared hallway, the repaint needs a clear boundary: what is being decorated, how it can be reached and who will continue using the building.

Main streets connected by smaller passages
The conservation appraisal describes a linear commercial centre, with lanes linking it to the Green and riverside. It also records earlier fabric behind later frontages. A street elevation therefore cannot tell the whole story of an interior. Include the rooms behind and above it when describing the proposed work, and check protected features before setting the preparation method.

Residential scale within the town centre
The council identifies predominantly Victorian housing, from cottages to villas, generally arranged as terraces or pairs. For a repaint, record the arrangement of your own property rather than assuming that its rooms or access match the building next door. A converted flat needs particular clarity about the internal entrance, shared stair and any windows included in the instruction.

Bring colour back to the room
View samples with the existing flooring and the light actually reaching the walls. In a compact flat, the relationship between the hall and living space may matter more than selecting several separate feature colours. In a larger home, a staircase can connect a series of individually treated rooms. We discuss those transitions before preparing the final colour and finish schedule.
Loading is part of the decorating brief
Explain how materials reach the entrance and whether other occupiers use the same route. Check signs and restrictions at the intended unloading point; a space appearing empty does not establish a right to use it. If a bay suspension or highway licence is needed, include that application in the arrangements before relying on the position for equipment or deliveries.

Prepare a flat for its next occupation
For a landlord, list the rooms to be repainted after the property can be inspected and distinguish decorative damage from unresolved repairs. Coordinate access with cleaning and any other trades. If the flat remains occupied, agree a usable room sequence with the residents and the person authorised to instruct the work. An intended tenancy date informs the discussion but cannot replace a condition assessment.
