Care for the house. Consideration for the household.

A brief shaped by the property

For a Georgian townhouse, the discussion may begin with historic joinery and the permissions for a changed finish. For a large family house, the first question may be which bedroom can close without disrupting the rest of the home. An apartment adds a shared entrance and building rules. We bring those concerns into the decorating brief before setting out the proposed work.

A finish considered at close range

Colour is only one part of a decorative decision. The condition of the wall, the definition of a moulding, the sheen beside glazing and the treatment of a door edge all belong in the specification. We discuss samples in context and identify the materials that will remain, so the proposed repaint has a clear relationship with the room or elevation around it.

Professional support for consent matters

Where the work requires listed-building or planning consent, our sister company Hampstead Chartered Surveyors & Building Consultancy handles that process through a separate professional appointment. Share the proposed alterations and any existing approvals early. The scope of the consent support and the scope of the painting work should both be clear before an instruction is given.
